Who Is The Comforter?

Over the years there has been much controversy over whether the Bible is talking about the Holy Spirit or Prophet Mohammed (s.a.w.) when it says:   "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you." [John 16:7 (KJV)]  Christians believe that Jesus speaks about the Holy Spirit.   How so when The Holy Spirit had always been on the Earth since the beginning?  Take a look at the many verses below that support this:

Gen 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Gen 41:38 And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find [such a one] as this [is], a man in whom the Spirit of God [is]?

Exd 31:3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,

Exd 35:31 And he hath filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship;

Num 24:2 And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel abiding [in his tents] according to their tribes; and the spirit of God came upon him.

1Sa 10:10 And when they came thither to the hill, behold, a company of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them.

1Sa 11:6 And the Spirit of God came upon Saul when he heard those tidings, and his anger was kindled greatly.

1Sa 19:20 And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing [as] appointed over them, the Spirit of God was upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.

1Sa 19:23 And he went thither to Naioth in Ramah: and the Spirit of God was upon him also, and he went on, and prophesied, until he came to Naioth in Ramah.

Job 27:3 All the while my breath [is] in me, and the spirit of God [is] in my nostrils;

Job 33:4 The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life

Isa 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD [is] upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to [them that are] bound;

Eze 11:24 Afterwards the spirit took me up, and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me.

To continue,  [John 16:13] Jesus says "But when He, the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come." 14. " He shall glorify Me; for He shall take of Mine, and shall disclose it to you."  [NAS Hebrew Greek Study Bible]  Here the word "speak" is laleo in the Greek, meaning,  to talk, i.e. utter words: preach, say, speak, talk, tell.  That means an audible voice.

In the Quran we are told that Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) was told by Angel Gabriel "recite", three times.  And three times he said "I cannot".  Then he began to speak and the Quran was given him.  This is a man who was unlearned, uneducated, known as the unlettered Prophet; he could not read nor write.  The Quran backs up most of the stories in the Bible and gives reverence to
Jesus as the Messiah and his mother Mary.

In the Old Testament Moses told his people, "The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own brothers. You must listen to him." He told them further, "The Lord said to me: '…I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers; I will put my words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him. If anyone does not
listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name, I myself will call him to account'" (Deuteronomy 18: 15-18).

Now let's go back.  Jesus said  "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you." [John 16:7 (KJV)]

He also said:  "From now on I am telling you before it comes to pass, so that when it does occur, you may believe that I am He."  "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who receives whomever I send receives Me; and  he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me." [John13:19-20]

Going back in the Bible to John 1:19-25 where the Jews sent priests and Levites to John the Baptist for questioning.  25 - And they asked him, and said to him, "Why then are you baptizing, if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?"  Now it is clear they are referring to the Christ as Jesus the Messiah, but they also refer to another called the Prophet; not Jesus the
Prophet, but the Prophet.  This is someone to come after the Christ and after Elijah (or someone, John, with the spirit of Elijah).  And that could only be Prophet Muhammad (saw).

What are your thoughts and basis of your reasoning after reading the facts?
